An engineered extruded-aluminium joist sits on nylon base clips for areas with an extremely minimal step-down from the house to the patio. A fixed 35 mm to the top of joist keeps a typical finished deck under 60 mm over slab or tiles.
Aluminium and nylon mean no rust, no rot and no moisture-wicking from a timber batten into your boards.
